Arabs Are Funny

Every so often, we find something to do on a Saturday night that doesn’t consist solely of drinking. At home. By ourselves. While trying to one-up each other with YouTube clips in the “music video nostalgia game.”
Last Saturday was one such night.
We ventured out of the house and into a comedy club to watch Brian Posehn, who is probably known best for his role on the Sarah Silverman Program. He also did a voice over in this year’s Scooby Doo! Abracadabra-Doo. Chances are, you haven’t seen either. But I can assure you he is HILARIOUS. Really funny guy. Read more ⇒

I love this girl. She’s cute, she can sing, and she wore a t-shirt under a tube dress.
Aerial Skiers… Wow

I’ve been impressed by athletes before.
But HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THINGS HUMANS SHOULD NEVER ATTEMPT, the aerial skiers have been blowing my mind for the past couple of nights.
My heart literally races as I watched them flirt with death (or at least paralysis) for Olympic glory.

I fell out of bed on Sunday morning. Does that even happen to grownups?
It actually reminded me of one of my favorite Smiths’ lyrics, only far less romantic.

I knew someone was out to get me and I couldn’t get out. I woke up scared shitless and short of breath. Read more ⇒
“Mad As a Box of Frogs” and Other English Expressions

I lived in London for two years and I’m not gonna lie, there were a lot of things I didn’t like about the place: the gloomy weather, the 3:30 p.m. winter sunsets, the congested (and overpriced) public transport, rampant petty theft, chavs, the cost of living, substandard customer service…
Hey, I said a lot didn’t I?
But there are a lot of things I don’t like about most places.
If there’s one thing I learned in my years as a nomad it’s that wherever you go, the pros and cons—however different in nature—pretty much even out. Duh, right? It only took me six years and lot of heartache to realize that.
But that’s another post for another time.
On to what I loved about England: my friends, free healthcare, Newcastle accents, socially acceptable pub lunches any day of the week, the architecture, the tabloids, four weeks’ vacation, Madchester, did I mention the pub lunches?
